University of Idaho Celebrates Teach Ag Day

Students Celebrate National Teach Ag. Day! On September 24th, students gathered to compete in the second annual Teach Ag. Quiz Bowl! During an evening of heated competition four teams answered a series of Jeopardy style questions, which challenged their knowledge of the National Teach Ag campaign.  After an hour a team of four young ladies were victorious! Congratulations, Olivia Zurcher, Melanie Morgan, Erin Peek, and Gabby Munson! National Teach Ag Day is designed to encourage college students to teach agriculture, while recognizing the important role that agriculture teachers play in schools and communities. 

Head of AEE Department Honored

Dr. Jim Connors Honored Agricultural Education and Extension Department Head Jim Connors will be honored with a National FFA Organization VIP Award.  The VIP awards honor individuals who have dedicated countless years of service and support to the FFA and agricultural education.  Dr. Connors is one seventeen recipients, of this fine award this year at National FFA Convention.  Congratulations, Dr. Connors!

News from Twin Falls

The College of Southern Idaho recently celebrated their 50th birthday with a Community Celebration! The University of Idaho and CSI have collaboratively offered a bachelor degree program in Agriculture entirely on the  CSI campus since 1994 (21 years).  It's a 2+2 program where students earn their first two years of credits at CSI and finish their last two years of distance delivered UI credits in Twin Falls. College of Western Idaho in Nampa participates in VandalLink! VandalLink is a transfer plan program to help students seamlessly transfer to UI with added benefits of a fee waiver, priority registration and scholarship opportunities exclusive to VandalLink students. The University of Idaho and CWI offer a 2+2 program where students can earn a bachelor degree in Agriculture entirely in the Treasure Valley.  The degree offered is Agricultural Science, Communication and Leadership, B.S.  Now there are ASCL majors in Moscow, Twin Falls and N...

Twin Falls Kicks Off the New Year

Twin Falls Celebrates a New Semester! Over four hundred miles away in Twin Falls, Idaho the AEE department celebrated the beginning of the fall semester. Students and faculty alike got together to share a meal, play some games, and build a lasting bond.  From what we heard in Moscow, was the Minnow races were highly competitive and the Frisbee Toss went without incident.  Good luck to all the Twin Falls as they begin their studies, this fall semester!
