Get to Know Our Graduate Students

Meet our Graduate Students
By: Tanner White

This past fall, our department has been blessed with two outstanding, young women who have chosen to further their education at the University of Idaho. Hannah Mamer and Pamela Holman are both obtaining their Masters in Agriculture Education and are without a doubt a terrific addition to our department.

Hannah Mamer

Hannah Mamer earned her Bachelors degree in Agricultural Science from Eastern Oregon University, through Oregon State University’s Agricultural Science and Natural Resource program. Having grown up on a small family farm, she loves being involved in agriculture, whether it’s in a classroom or working outside with animals. In her time off from school she works on a cattle ranch, doing everything from irrigating, to building fence, and anything else that might need to be done. Her love of agriculture not only comes from her time growing up on a ranch, but also her time as a member of 4-H and FFA. It was through her time spent in these fine organizations, that she decided to become a high school agriculture educator.
Hannah’s passion from her years in 4-H and FFA, has become her topic of research for her masters thesis. As she intends to discover the impact collaboration can have in Idaho’s 4-H and FFA programs.

Pamela Holman

Pamela Holman was born and raised on a small family cattle ranch in Grangeville, Idaho. Where she spent time as member of a local 4-H Club and FFA chapter, during her years as a devoted member she showed everything from lambs to swine and even steers!
Pamela earned her Bachelors degree in Animal Science from the University of Idaho, she joins us again to obtain her masters in Agriculture Education. Her masters research focuses on the correlation between high school participation in FFA and Supervised Agricultural Experience projects. And how that translates to student’s success in the College of Agricultural Life Sciences. She is also looking to find out, if any of the agricultural events at our University influenced College of Agricultural Life Sciences students to attend the University of Idaho.
