Idaho FFA Foundation Under New Leadership

The Idaho FFA Foundation came under new leadership in June of 2018. Now at the helm of the Foundation is Marcia Jedry, an 18-year veteran of the non-profit sector. A graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in Business Administration, Jedry is no stranger to organization management and development strategy. Prior to coming onboard with the Idaho FFA Foundation, she was the Finance Director for the Idaho Republican Party, and before that, the Director of Finance & Marketing for the Idaho Association of Commerce & Industry (IACI). In 2014, Jedry earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, the highest credential that can be earned in the association world.

Upon earning her CAE, her goal was to become the Executive Director of an organization that she is passionate about. When the opportunity with the Idaho FFA Foundation presented itself, it was a perfect fit for Jedry. “I am passionate about making sure our Idaho students have the tools they need to be successful, and the Ag Ed program in conjunction with FFA achieves that mission,” said Jedry, “Students have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills and focus areas within their studies.  As FFA members they learn important skills that help give them a leg up for future employers and to hone in on their business skills through their SAE projects.”

Now, four months into this position, Jedry has met with supporters, advisors, state officers, and FFA members to learn the best ways to navigate the foundation into the coming years by providing further opportunities for members. “It is my mission to make sure FFA members have the financial support to engage in quality agricultural education programs that ensure student success and a sustainable future,” said Jedry, “One of my goals for this year is to make sure advisors and the agriculture business community connect in meaningful ways such as career success tours, industry classroom presentations, business engagement during CDEs, and encouraging students to engage in internship opportunities.”

For students interested in engaging with their communities and giving back, Jedry recommends working with and for the non-profit sector. “Engaging in a non-profit offers a way to participate in a cause that you believe in, it teaches empathy and allows one to give back to those in need,” said Jedry.
